Outpour Kids

Our Vision

At Outpour we believe that God has poured out His Spirit on both young and old.  Therefore, we desire that children have access to God’s spirit through knowing His story and His people.  Our Sunday Kid’s experience aims to expose our children to God’s tremendous love through His gospel story.  We believe it is our privilege to walk alongside children as they begin their faith journeys.

Our Program

Sprouts (ages 3 – Kindergarten): Children anywhere from 3 yrs old to kindergarten age are welcome in this room.  Located upstairs in the Clayton Community Center’s Oasis room, children will be exposed to stories of God, activities that enhance their play and imagination while building familiarity with faith and church community.   Our curriculum is Montessori-inspired Christian education called Godly Play and Following Jesus that help children engage with Bible stories via play.  Play includes working with story figures, creating projects with crafting supplies, or hearing more stories from our storytellers.  Godly play also incorporates a worship “liturgy” that mimics that of Sunday service to help children familiarize themselves with church worship.

Cedars (1st-5th grade):  Here we take the Montessori based curriculum  Godly Play to the next level incorporating Bible discussion and inquiry based learning.  Children will also be given many option to be creative in response to the goings on in their week.  They will also be encouraged to explore the spiritual practices of prayer, service, and hospitality.  Our hope is to help foster each individual child’s relationship with Jesus and spiritual practice in light of that.

Our Environment

In order to deliver the best experience to our children, all our volunteers are required to pass background checks and receive ongoing training in our procedures and God-centered teaching practices.  It is our goal to ensure that your children have a safe and fun environment to worship God.

What Does Participation Look Like?

Parents are expected to bring their child(ren) to the appropriate classroom at the end of the musical worship set. At drop-off please instruct the Children’s ministers regarding anything they should know about your child to give them the best care.

During Service
We have trained all our ministers to keep your child engaged in our programs, but sometimes you may still need to come and get your child. Ministers will contact you if any of the following occurs:

  • Child has a soiled diaper
  • Child needs help going to the bathroom
  • Child is experiencing severe separation anxiety
  • Child is injured (e.g., bad open cuts or inconsolable)

At the end of service (~11:30am) our volunteers will be bringing your child(ren) to joing you in service.

If you desire your child to be a regular participant in Outpour’s children’s ministry, it is our desire that parents join our volunteer team. Which consists of volunteering once a month in either class.
